As our 136th season comes to a close, we wish you and your loved ones the happiest of holidays. May the lights of Christmas trees and of the menorah candles of Chanukah remind us of the presence of God.

We know guests who come each year in November. They watch a lazy sunrise and take a walk in the dallying dusk. In between, guests enjoying our Seaside Shopper Package shop the outlets. Some are making lists of all the things to do before the holidays begin. Others are addressing cards in Ocean Terrace or sipping sherry and reading by the windows. Our 136th season plans include a grand finale with three delightful 2-night Gourmet Weekends. The Microbrew Tasting Weekend, November 14 -16, features the award-winning beers of Geary’s Brewing Company of Portland, Maine. Chef Michael has created a menu that introduces Geary's Pale Ale during the reception and serves London Porter with dessert. A New York Times blind taste test voted this beer “the best in the world”! But, you go right ahead and keep your eyes open so you can see the dessert of roasted pineapple ice cream. Check out the full menu and our Microbrew Package for more details.
Our first Wine Tasting Package on November 21 - 23 features the Napa Valley's Flora Springs, a family-owned winery and vineyard. Quarterly Review of Wines wrote, “Wines of such remarkable character and quality as to be in a class by themselves.” Chef has paired their Cabernet Sauvignon with the third course on the menu.
Our second Wine Tasting Package on December 5 - 7 is a Tuscan holiday featuring the fine wines of Rocca delle Macìe. The third course on the menu is served with a Chianti Classico Reserva. Its bright ruby red color and taste will transport you to the hills of Tuscany, where you will dine on Florentine-style steak!

Have you ever seen a lobster trap pulled on board or seen how a trap is baited? Do you know how to measure a lobster if not by the pound? Our Lobster Cruise package is a 2-night getaway that includes a 45-minute cruise out of scenic Perkins Cove (weather permitting). The new moon in June is pretty hard to locate. It appears after the sun sets, just a few degrees away in the western sky. It holds this lofty position each night but is tricky to find. So, we would like to recommend the sunrise — no lovelier vantage point than here on Bald Head Cliff — and it thunders up on the horizon like a giant neon peach! Some guests get up just to take photos then go back to bed.
An all-time favorite June getaway is Yankee Catch. It is a great value that combines delicious food and drink with spectacular oceanfront lodging. Wouldn’t you enjoy a 3-night vacation here in June?

Dear Cliff Club Member,
Our Microbrew Tasting Weekend, coming up at the beginning of May, will feature the Belgian-style ales of Maine’s Allagash Brewing Company. The event is in the same format as our Wine Tastings, with a reception and a narrated gourmet dinner. This may present a problem for some who can’t imagine sipping beer while eating food cooked with beer and even having beer with dessert! But wait, this is not an outing at Fenway! These are crafted beers, expertly brewed.
The first course on the dinner menu features Beets, Frites, Grilled Pear and Caña de Cabra cheese served with Allagash White, brewed with a generous portion of wheat and a special blend of spices. The Allagash Dubbel served with the second course boasts a dark mahogany color with ruby hues and a complex malt taste. There will even be a beer to complement the dessert of Oatmeal, Date, and Local Apple Tart with Cinnamon Gelato. The narrator will be the brewmaster from Allagash and promises to be very informative.
