Dear Cliff Club Member,
Our Microbrew Tasting Weekend, coming up at the beginning of May, will feature the Belgian-style ales of Maine’s Allagash Brewing Company. The event is in the same format as our Wine Tastings, with a reception and a narrated gourmet dinner. This may present a problem for some who can’t imagine sipping beer while eating food cooked with beer and even having beer with dessert! But wait, this is not an outing at Fenway! These are crafted beers, expertly brewed.
The first course on the dinner menu features Beets, Frites, Grilled Pear and Caña de Cabra cheese served with Allagash White, brewed with a generous portion of wheat and a special blend of spices. The Allagash Dubbel served with the second course boasts a dark mahogany color with ruby hues and a complex malt taste. There will even be a beer to complement the dessert of Oatmeal, Date, and Local Apple Tart with Cinnamon Gelato. The narrator will be the brewmaster from Allagash and promises to be very informative.
