FALCONRY | September 30 | North Point Lawn | 10 AM + 2PM
Guests have two opportunities to join master falconer John Schwartz in two ways, on the North Point Lawn.
At 10 AM, John will have guests in awe with a flight demonstration while he extols an introduction to the history and traditions of falconry.
At 2 PM*, our more adventurous guests will have the unique opportunity to handle this incredible, trained raptor and also observe its impressive flight across our field. This exclusive, hands-on experience is $150 per person.
This an adult-appropriate experience and must be booked in advance through our concierge (207.361.6245). Classes are open to overnight-stay guests only. *There is a class fee associated with the 2 PM sessions.

These complimentary sessions have gotten rave reviews. Experience an up-close look at America's most iconic bird species via this live streaming session. Join us in Hartwig Theatre for a visit with the National Eagle Center in Wabasha, MN. Discover fascinating insights into eagle biology, behavior, nesting habits, and the unique stories behind the Center's eagle ambassadors.
The program concludes with a special virtual meet-and-greet with one of the center's eagles, followed by a Q&A session allowing you to deepen your understanding of these remarkable raptors.
HISTORY OF TEA + TEA READINGS | Dates to be Announced
Join Roxie Zwicker, founder of New England Curiosities and bestselling author featured on the History and Travel Channels. In The Lost Teas of the American Revolution, Roxie presents a 30‑minute illustrated program exploring the history, symbolism, and cultural traditions of tea in Colonial and Revolutionary America. Guests will sample historic teas and learn how this everyday beverage shaped a pivotal moment in the nation’s story. The teas guests will get to try include Colonial Bohea, Congou, Young Hyson, Lapsang Souchong + Singlo.

HISTORY OF CHOCOLATE DEMONSTRATIONS | Dates to be Announced
Old York Historical Society | 3 Lindsay Road, York, Maine | Estimated Travel Time: 18 minutes
A complimentary presentation that traces the history of chocolate from its Indigenous South American origins to its rise in popularity during the American Revolutionary era, including how cocoa beans were traditionally processed into drinking chocolate. Guests conclude the experience by sampling traditional unsweetened chocolate. The duration of this experience is 45-60 minute.
