Cliff House Stewardship

Cliff House Maine is committed to sustainability, community engagement, and supporting the arts. We prioritize environmental responsibility through energy-efficient initiatives and sourcing locally. We contribute to Maine’s cultural landscape by showcasing regional artists and supporting local businesses, organizations + charities that protect our coast and community. Through thoughtful partnerships, wellness initiatives, and sustainable practices, we strive to create a meaningful and lasting impact.

Property-Wide energy efficiencies

  • Kure amenity dispensers, filled with Apothia spa products, eliminate single-use plastics.
  • Guest rooms feature dual-flush toilets to promote water efficiency.
  • LED lighting throughout the property reduces energy consumption.
  • Our restaurants use eco-friendly, compostable to-go and single-use dishware made from plant pulp.
  • Digital information guides and QR codes help minimize paper use.
  • An energy-efficient septic system with a direct in-line pump station eliminates the need for a traditional wet well, reducing environmental impact and energy use.

Social Responsibility

  • Through a partnership pioneered with Virtuosu we contribute directly to many local organizations such as Marginal Way Preservation Fund, Ogunquit Museum of American Art, Ogunquit Playhouse, Mount Agamenticus Conservation Fund, and Maine Lobster Community Alliance.
  • Throughout the property we display work from local artists and facilitate support directly to them.
