CLIFF HOUSE MAINE COMPLETES LANDMARK REIMAGINATION WITH NEW SIGNATURE SUITES

Resort Unveils “The Ledges” Wing Featuring 40 Specialty Suites and a Classically Restored New England Cottage

Cape Neddick, ME (May XX, 2018) – Cliff House Maine, which is nestled across 70 acres atop Bald Head Cliff on the southern coast of Maine, along with owner Rockbridge and local Hoteliers and owners Marc Dugas and Peter Anastos, proudly announce the completion of the second and final phase of the hotel’s landmark transformation with the debut of 40 specialty suites. The second phase introduces newly-built, upscale suites and amenities with exceptional design that blends the property’s coastal chic atmosphere and modern technologies with traditional Maine authenticity.

“The team worked very hard to realize the vision of Cliff House with the completion of this final renovation,” said Jim Merkel, CEO, Rockbridge. “We have enjoyed the collaboration, which created a truly unique destination in Maine as well as New England.”

Guests may select from 40 newly designed suites including a One-Bedroom Oceanfront Corner Suite with two private terraces and stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean; a Ledges Two-Bedroom Oceanfront Suite featuring expansive two-bedroom suites, with elegant nautical touches, private terraces and beautiful views; or an Oceanfront King with Bonus Bunk Room ideal for families, complete with one king-sized bed, a bunk bed and a full-sized sleeper sectional sofa. In the new Ledges wing, guests may also stay in the Elsie Weare Suite, named after the woman whose vision was the driving force behind creating Cliff House in 1866. This very desirable suite features a full kitchen and dining area, fireplaces in the living room and master bedroom that work, dramatic terraces, oversized soaking tub and endless ocean vistas. Guests may also choose the Captain Perkins Suite, which is named after Elsie's brother who originally built Cliff House, a beautifully appointed suite featuring a master bedroom, spacious living room, a dining room and a studio kitchen. Suite amenities include a welcome snack basket, a “Wild and Free” Kit from the Spa at Cliff House, luxurious plush slippers, complimentary valet parking, and nightly turn-down service with chocolates from Astor, and vintage postcards.

All of the rooms and suites in the new Ledges building boast even more Cliff House Maine allure, because they are built on the original hotel footprint, allowing unparalleled proximity to the cliffs, a truly one-in-a-million view and experience. The new collection of suites, which varies in size from 820 to 1,800 square-feet, were custom designed with graceful style by notable architecture firm Cooper Carry Architects and interior design firm TruexCullins, the same team that completed the first phase of Cliff House Maine’s transformation last year. The guest rooms feature maritime-chic décor, king-sized beds, sumptuous bedding, exclusive bath amenities, private terraces and stunning water views. Inside the spacious luxury suites, there is a picturesque, cottage feel with tasteful New England design elements. The color palettes of the suites range from creamy whites and warm neutrals, to the distinct grey-blue of the Atlantic Ocean, enhancing the feel of a getaway escape.

Cliff House Maine now offers a total of 226 accommodation options, including 186 guest rooms and 40 suites. All have stylish, coastal-inspired furnishings, luxury Comphy linens and made-in-Maine Cuddledown comforters, each with private terraces overlooking the scenic Bald Head Cliff. The new rooms and suites were thoughtfully designed for the convenience of remaining indoors while traversing the resort. Guests may venture outside, perhaps while donning one of Cliff House Maine’s cozy hooded robes to enjoy one of the oversized, heated year-round hot tubs with a glass of wine or a beer.

In addition, located a stone’s throw from the resort lobby is the quintessential New England Weare Cottage. The original home to the Weare family, this idyllic, classically restored cottage is perfect for families or groups of friends. Designed with graceful coastal style, the cottage features the original stone fireplace, three bedrooms, a full gorgeously designed kitchen and a front porch to take in the ocean breezes and serene views.

“Our entire team is pleased and honored to announce the completion of the newest oceanfront resort on the scenic coast of Southern Maine; it is an exciting step forward for us,” said General Manager Nancy White. “As a property rich in local history, it is imperative to fuse its unique past with updated, well-appointed and stylish amenities and comforts sought by today’s travelers. “

There is an array of Maine-inspired food and beverage choices between the property’s innovative signature restaurant, The Tiller, and the classic oceanfront Nubb’s Lobster Shack. Both are open year-round and offer local, seasonal ingredients and handcrafted cocktails. Bald Coffee Company will also be opening Memorial Day weekend featuring Portland’s signature Bard Coffee.

Cliff House Maine is also home to the scenic and nature-inspired Spa at Cliff House and offers a luxurious escape, with restorative, natural treatments, a full-service salon, a state-of-the-art fitness center and movement studio, and a cliff-side spa sanctuary where guests can unwind and relax.

Having first welcomed guests in 1872, Cliff House Maine remains an iconic, authentic New England resort, one that provides an unforgettable escape to all travelers with its remarkable views, upscale comforts and diverse range of both indoor and outdoor activities and experiences. Enjoy lobster boils, a stroll on the Cliff Walk and Ogunquit’s Marginal Way, invigorating sunrises, Sunday evening fireworks in the Summer, and weekend evening entertainment. The property features a dedicated family pool and various family friendly activities, including toasting marshmallows at the fire pit while sharing sea tales.
