Under the Direction of Executive Chef Rick Shell, Cliff House Unveils Robust Culinary & Beverage Program

Cape Neddick, ME – As part of its transformative renovation, Cliff House Maine is now home to two distinct restaurant and bar concepts. Under the direction of Executive Chef Rick Shell, the cliffside resort provides an array of impressive gastronomy and libations on property to appeal to the world’s most discerning travelers and local New Englanders alike.

Cliff House tapped seasoned Chef Shell, who has premier expertise in the culinary arts and hospitality industry for more than 20 years of hospitality experience and 18 years of senior level management. Prior to joining Cliff House, Chef Shell was the Executive Chef at Suncadia Resort, A Destination Hotel in Washington, where he built and ran an onsite culinary organic farm. Chef Shell graduated with a B.A. from The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York.

From a signature restaurant with breathtaking views to a classic lobster shack, the resort has become one of Southern Maine’s top dining destinations. The venues offer inventive dining and catering options tailored to provide an authentic yet unique local taste. Cliff House combines the region’s distinctive culture and tradition by partnering with local fisherman, farmers, distillers and ranchers to bring culinary innovation and sustainable practices for authentic and nuanced dining experiences.


Cliff House’s signature restaurant, The Tiller, is suspended above the Atlantic for panoramic ocean views with spectacular sunrises. Guests find a seasonal menu featuring varying flavors for breakfast, lunch or dinner through farm-fresh local produce, line-caught fish, roasts and homemade recipes passed down from generations. Respectful preparations showcase native ingredients at their peak and pair perfectly with the property’s international wine program and handcrafted cocktail menu.


Situated just beyond the double-sided fireplace by The Tiller, the Tidemark Terrace offers handcrafted cocktails along with fresh and regional dishes. The terrace celebrates Cliff House Maine’s exceptional location with breathtaking views and locally-inspired refreshments.


A serene oceanfront dining experience, this convenient restaurant invites patrons to enjoy classic New England cuisine with majestic coastal views. Nubb’s Lobster Shack provides guests with beloved Maine lobster rolls, fried clams, raw bar, and juicy burgers with pickled garden tomatoes while playing games and engaging in lively conversation. A selection of local craft beers from regional brewers offers a wide spectrum of session IPAs to rich seasonal porters, while cocktails are handcrafted with garden-picked ingredients.
